I show myself! Artworks by patients of the Heidelberg Centre for Psychosocial Medicine
24 September to 6 October 2024
The Prinzhorn Collection Museum and three art therapists from the ZPM have organised an exhibition entitled ‘I show myself!’ Heidelberg patients from psychiatry and psychosomatics were invited to exhibit their own artistic works in the premises of the Kraepelin Day Clinic (Thibautstraße 6, 1st floor). Two-dimensional works on a freely chosen theme could be submitted, without specifications for material or technique. There was a pleasing number of responses. Several works by one artist were selected by the organising group of art therapists and employees of the Prinzhorn Collection.
The impetus for the project came from the exhibition ‘Seen like this’, which is being shown in parallel to this show at the Prinzhorn Collection Museum. It presents the 50 award-winning works of the ‘so gesehen’ art prize. This prize is awarded every three years on the occasion of the State Psychiatry Day and is aimed at artists with psychiatric experience in Baden-Württemberg.
Opening hours ‘I show myself!’ in the Kraepelin Day Clinic (Thibautstraße 6, 1st floor):
